Do you mean your monitor is off?
On some monitors the connections in the back are not too firm. I have had the experience of moving the monitor and interrupting the connections.

First, check all connections - power and to the computer.
Then, check the device driver:
To open Device Manager, click Start,
point to Settings,
and then click Control Panel.
Double-click System.
On the Hardware tab,
click Device Manager.
Right-cl the item to be checked and select Properties.

You should be told whether or not the item is working properly. You can also update the driver from here.

If you are sure all connections are firm, and are told it is not working properly, you may have to consider getting another monitor.
