Become a good team again? What rock are you living under? They are a good team among others. You don't win 9 AL East titles in a row if you aren't any good. And Yes I am fully aware of their failures in the past 6 years, but if history does repeat itself, and I think it will, the Yankees will, in the future, be adding another Commissioner's Trophy to the case.

The Yankees ascended to greatness in the late 90's because they combined some great internal prospects (i.e. Jeter) with some smart free agent signings (i.e. Mussina, Clemens). For the last 6 years, they have been trying to win it through paying big bucks to aging superstars... which is a no-brainer bad return on investment. They are on the right track. They are as likely to win as anyone this year, and actually have a farm team to build towards the future, as well.

First I must tell you I hate the Yankees. Now, I will tell you this; Never underestimate the yankee organization ecspecially George. He will feild a contender and search with checkbook in hand to fill vacancies. You as a yankee fan have nothing to wory about.

i can't stand the yankees as to me they are the most overrated team in baseball especially with their near 200 million dollar payroll what's up with that why spend 200 million dollars

I dont think so. Well they could but Jeter would have to wake up and let the best SS in the game play SS. I think he is to selfish to do that tho.
