Am sure this is a silly and question and it is really easy to find but so far I can't find it... Does anyone know...
I don't really want to use walk-throughs off of the web as I tend to just follow them completely instead of actually playing the game... I just want this one thing answered..any ideas welcome :)

It should be sitting quietly in your pockets menu, to use it you need to fuel it in the basement.

Hi there, the metal detector is in the shop & it costs 800. I've looked on a walkthrough for you (lol).
The shop is outside the hotel on the right. And I don't think you necessarily need to charge it initially (not from what I've read) - but if you do it both the guides I looked at said to go to the furnace & use a fuel rod.

you have to buy it from the store. I can't remember the name of the guy in the penthouse at the time, but he tells you that he read an article about finding bars you can find in the desert, then go to the store and it will be available. Also, you can charge the metal detector in the basement by the boiler where you insert the fuel rods!

You have to go and buy it from the shop if i remember rightly, i don't think your carrying it already. When you have it you have to go into the hotel, go to your left and down the stairs, keep following until you get to a door which is the basement and there is a nuclear reactor in there and it gives you the option of charging your metal detector

i think you buy it from the shops but as soon as i do it my game freezes and deletes memory thats why i have sold it and i suggest you do the same or me and the green little men that live inside my head will hunt you down an make you kapeesh. see this game makes ou aggresive and violent! beccy xx
