All birth control pills have negative side effects, you should do some research online to find out what they are. Aside from that, I've taken Yasmin for 6 years. It is the closest birth control pill to Diane 35, which is not FDA approved in the US (although it is in Canada and Europe!). My doctor put me on Yasmin because I have PCOS and Yasmin has the proper hormones to treat my PCOS. I personally love it (but I haven't tried any other kind). It cleared up my skin (I used to have bad cystic acne) and made my facial hair (a side effect from the PCOS) lighter and softer, and easier to pluck. The only down side is that my periods last longer than they did when I wasn't taking it. But then again, with the PCOS, I only had about 4 to 5 periods a year, so the Yasmin helps keep me regular. I wouldn't say that I 'highly recommend' it or anything, only your doctor can decide what kind of birth control pill would be appropriate for you. Hoped this helped!
