Ronald: I have to admit, Brit food is an acquired taste. I had a British food basket delivered to me by mistake and I was informed by the company to keep it. I'm sorry but everything tasted horrible. Including the chocolate biscuits...

Because the acting business is bigger and more opportunities are around (basically anyon1 can make it if they try) but in UK its a smaller business -less opportunities (but it shows people who have true talent who have cut it) Another reason is life is cheaper (excluding the health policy- in UK we have NHS- best health idea ever, when in the us u cannot be treated unless u pay ) Houses that are expensive 4 the USA (eg $700 000) is cheap 4 us in England (it equals roughly £350 000)

Um, no offense, but they are just as many moving to the UK too! Look at Madonna, Gwenyth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, Bryan Adams (he's Canadian, but he's there). Shania Twain lives in Switzerland. Johnny Depp lives in France. I think they live overseas away from the States to get away from the limelight and live a semi-normal life. Those moving to the U.S. are trying to get more lime-light and get more movies/endorsements their way. They will make more money here than anywhere. Victoria Beckham is a business woman and will make sure they capitalize while they can!

A better lifestyle, no real language difficulties, very edible food, not nearly the same, unwanted attention from the media, an acceptance of people who are successful, better healthcare if you can afford it, better roads, less vandalism........the list goes on.

Now, why would any celebrity wish to stay here?

Because there is more money to be made and less taxes to pay. Also UK is a dump. If I had the opportunity I would also move, but not to States because too far away.

I would also think weather has a lot to do with it. If you've never been to California, you just can't comprehend how lovely the weather is. I was blown away the first time I visited. It really is as pretty as "they" say.

Tax evasion? The food you disliked contained less sugar?

Something called income tax, me thinks. With your main residence abroad, you do not have to pay UK tax. Plus it is a long commute every day from Spain or UK to US.

In the UK, celebrities cannot fart without it being reported in one of many tacky tabloids!
From what I hear, it is much better in the states.
