Billions of dollars are already being spent finding sources. Think about it. Wouldn't you want to be the guy holding a patent on the right idea?

Research has been done and there are good alternatives. See for example the Texas A&M and U New Hampshire sites below. Vision and investment are lacking. The US could today be energy self-sufficient with an investment the size of the Iraq war. As a fringe benefit the war would also be won. The objective of war is to destroy your enemy's ability to wage war. The economies of the Middle East would be devastated as just as effectively by loss of oil income as the economies of Germany and Japan were devastated by the fire bombing campaigns of WW2.

Harnessing the wind. Many energy experts say this would most definitely work and would not be ridiculously expensive to implement. But,,,, the rich folk along the Atlantic seaboard do not want those windmills spoiling their ocean views. The big ranchers in Texas don't want them scaring their cattle or interferring with round up by helicopter. The environmentalists say birds will be injured by them. But the real reason..... the oil giants have congressmen in their grips because of big campaign donations. Alternative sources? Sure, very do-able... but also very unlikely.

actual, we dont spend billions of greenbacks on the area software. All instructed, this equipment purely expenses approximately sixteen billion funds. If youre searching for a sacrificial lamb, check out training: fifty 4 billion funds, the militia: 956 billion funds, "airport risk-free practices": 240 billion funds, seaport risk-free practices: 990 million funds. definite, there are extra pressing matters, yet in certainty, all of them require extra funds than the area software does. and could i remind you that without the area software, youthful guy, we does not be chatting with one yet another on computers with an encompassing community of computers. and further extra, we does not have satellite tv for pc verbal substitute or cellular telephones, computers with instantaneous, ccd cameras, extra effective food packaging ideas. And this dream which you talk of will purely come into fruition untill the pessmistic defeatism ends. you notice it in Iraq, in the information media, and all people who could particularly run than face the certainty and characteristic the flexibility to handle it. and could i remind you that purely 17 people have been killed in the area software. If we've been to supply up by using fact of that, then we could besides stop making use of vehicles, or using on airplanes, eating, eating, smoking... in case you % a terrorist, who's the actual terrorist? we are, the terrorists have purely killed 10,000. how many have WE killed, or the huge companies? hundreds of thousands? Billions? yet any way, thats beside the element. the element is, that we won't be able to dishonor the lifeless via giving up now. the huge majority of persons are actual happy with the area software. The catastrophic episode... that is 99942 Apophis. The bane of human existance, and the clarification we come across.

bush and cheney want war cuz their big companies can make billions on it -we call it blood money . for the $ spent in iraq we could have bought new every energy using item owned by the american public AND designed a new type of energy to run them , and STILL saved money --and improved our lives 10 fold !!
just cost it out---on cars--say there are 220 million cars -buy new ones at 30,000 each ==6,600,000,000,000---war for the past 4 years plus 20 more as war or having bases over there still costs way ,way, way more

To at least even the playing field, at least take away the subsidies going to traditional fossil-fuel oriented energy industries.
