I am familiar of Ocho Ocho which became popular here in the Philippines. It was danced on a music sung by Bayani Agbayani. Are you referring to this?
Also, there is an Ocho steps in Casino de Rueda.

Yes, it's lame, ... but not as lame as the Boom Tarat Tarat song/dance. These songs make you dumber each time you listen to it so shut off your TV and radio ASAP!
