Approximately 2827,4 m^2
The formula for the area of the circle is:
A = Pi * r^2
where Pi is the constant 3.141592654... and
r is the radius of the circle.
(if you are given a diameter, then radius is 1/2 of the diameter).
So, in your case, A = Pi * 30^2 = 900 Pi m^2= 2827,4 m^2
(m^2 are square meters)

The formula for calculating the area of a circle is Pi x R squared.
I tried to remember it by thinking about a big steak pie being square instead of round! (Pie(s) are squared!).
Pi is a greek letter to show the number 3.142(although it goes to many decimal points most of the time you will be asked to use it to 2 decimal points which is 3.14. There should be a pi button on your calculator which looks like a confused 'n').
R= radius.
So you have the radius as 30m.
So pi (3.14) x radius(30m) = 94.2
Then you need to square it (times the answer by itself). So 94.2 x94.2. You can work this bit out yourself!
Remember to write down how you did it as your maths teacher will want to see that you understand it. Don't forget to write down the m with a little 2 just above to show that the area is measured in metres squared!
DON'T USE 3.4 AS Pi. IT IS WRONG AND YOUR ANSWER WILL BE VERY WRONG.

Area of a circle = Ï x r² = 3.142 x 30 x 30
(I've rounded off Ï to 3 decimal places.
= 2,827.8 m²

Pi x R (squared) is the formula.. where R = radius.
So ... 3.4 x R x R is the way to calculate it...
