Since theres no legal basis for personal income taxes how about we send the IRS a post-it note instead of a check. If you are a get out of Iraq type (thats me) the note should read "We won't fund your illegal war!", if you are a conservative it should say "We won't fund Welfare!" etc etc

I'd love to do that. Glad someone else knows the truth about the IRS and Federal Reserve. I'd do it except for the fact, they'll either illegally take my house and posessions or kill me. Whichever one feels easier to do. Take for example of the man in NH who's in a standoff with the Feds because of not paying his taxes. He's told them, "Show me the law where it states I need to pay taxes on income and I'll write you a check."

For the others who are saying about how will roads and services be attended too. Simple answer, the other 47 types of taxes that we have to pay.

If you read the 16th Ammendment of the Constitution you'll find that there's no mandatory tax on income. Hell, there's no description of what income is on that ammendment either. Or if you have 2hrs, I'd suggest googling Aaron Russo's documentary America: Freedom to Fascism to get more answers about the question brought forth to us.

"I know they're concerned about spending but why didn't they ever protest when George W. Bush turned our surplus into enormous deficits? Where was the controversy and the outrage? Why when Obama is president?" It was started near the end of Bush's term, around the time the bailouts started. Timing of the straw that broke the camel's back just turned out to where the first major one was while Obama was president. They were starting to organize before that. "The basis of the movement is small government, but why didn't they protest when the government saw an unprecedented increase in size from 2000-2008?" Some of these people did, but the movement just got off the ground when it did. "Why do they tag along with the GOP, Fox News and prominent radio hosts such as Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh who have frequently been noted for hypocrisy and hate speech. I hate hypocrisy no matter what side its from. All of those organizations and people have twisted reputations, so is the Tea Party truly grassroots or affiliated with them? " It's grassroots, and really only organized at the city/state level. Some of the people follow Beck and Rush, but it's not run by Fox if that's what you're worried about. "How radical are they? I'm not a radical Conservative, I'm also a 'minority' (Indian descent). My friends told me I'd feel perfectly welcome. Of course, based on whats told by mainstream media,it sounds like the last place a brown guy like me would want to be and still get out alive." You'll be fine. The one I went to had minorities there, and people didn't deride them. There may be some racists there, but the movement is by no means a "white-only" one. "So basically, is this a rally worth attending for someone like me? Is this movement truly grassroots and for EVERYONE or is it a tool by the Right Wing media, talk radio and the GOP? Is it an anti-Obama movement or does it have more depth?" It's truly grass roots, with the RWM and GOP trying to ride it. There's been many cases of GOP members getting booed off stage when they started talking. There's been several articles recently showing that the Tea Party is a decent-sized force that's forcing Republicans to change. It's mostly libertarians (the definition of, not the party), so you should fit in.

Never happen. No way. People pay taxes cause they're sheep. Or they use the excuse that it pays for Blah Blah Blah. The founding fathers would be in shock of our government today. Yes it is an illegal war, but don't put too much hope in politicians.

A wonderful act of civil disobedience as long as you're willing to pay the fines and possibly go to jail.

However, the IRS takes a dim view of not paying taxes for what they consider frivolous reasons. See

The IRS has a way of deducting bank accounts without you having any say. The government would shut down without any money. The USA owes its soul to the company sto

Taxes serve their purposes. You obviously aren't advocating your "solution" to protest a cause since from your question it's obvious you just don't want to pay taxes. I could go on for the rest of the day on all what taxes go for. I probably could go on much longer.

Who would build the roads? Make them all toll? Who would inspect our food? If your house is on fire, do you want to rely on your neighbors? Should we let the murderers and rapists out of jail?

Obviously not paying taxes is not wise. There are tax havens (countries with little or no tax) that would be happy to have you move there but you have to give up your US citizenship and all the rights that come with it (embassy and consulate help).

The US has one of the lowest tax rates for an industrialized nation.

That's fine, but you won't fund, roads, social programs, building projects, education.....

As much as we hate taxes, we can't do without the products those tax dollars produce for the people.

I do think that we need a flat tax and be done with it, however.
