There are several factors to consider....

What type of surface will the child be playing on?
Screw In Studs for soft ground.
Bladed soles for medium.
Moulded studs for hard ground.

What is the budget?
Ideally, you should look for a quality leather, such as K Leather. This is very soft and will gradually shape to the foot, however it can be quite expensive.

With youngsters' feet still growing, you are unlikely to get more than a years use out of them, so look at sale offers on last season models.

Boot manufacturers regularly bring out new boot models an discount older lines. These older lines are great for kids as the quality is good and the price is better!

Try looking at this soccer cleat website for guidance on boots and a helpful community. www.footy-boots.com
