EGO is the cause of all evils.
Because of ego, man is possessed of possessiveness, attachment with ego, which repels man from man.
If EGO is replaced with LOVE,the world will become a heaven, and jealousy will find no place to live in the minds of kind hearted ,loving people.
NOW OR NEVER EVERY ONE OF US RESOLVE TO REPLCE EGO WITH LOVE and WE CAN DRIVE OUT JEALOUSY FROM THE MINDS OF ONE AND ALL.

Humanity is chock full of all sorts of morons who believe they are better than everyone else...
In reality, we are all the same with equal potential either way for perfection or error. No one should ever try and take anything away from you, if you feel good about yourself, good for you... Nor should you try and take it from anyone else. If they feel good about themselves... good for them. It is how it should be. But still... We all do it from time to time. In our error, we feel that in doing it it somehow makes us feel better about our own state and condition... It doesn't.
The universe is energy... Energy is constantly moving, constantly trading off and echoing. You get what you give, plain and simple.
People who are miserable... even if the misery of others makes them happy... always get what's coming to them in the end. Myself included...
There are laws concerning cause and effect. and even the most arrogant SOB can't escape the back-swing of the pendulum that their actions set into motion... So even if you feel innocent and undeserving. Somewhere along the line, You're not, or it wouldn't be happening to you.
A lot of people here have said that the Ego is the cause... I disagree because just like the famous old quote "The LOVE of money is the root of all evil." gets frequently misquoted to read; "Money is the root of all evil." Conviently omitting the whole LOVE part which shows responsability... and also how people always say "Gun's don't kill people, people kill people." We all have an Ego. But we were all also given the intelligence and insight to control it. You can't blame the ego because it is necessary and it is appointed to a person who should have full control over their faculties....

That's an interesting question. I think it may be because jealousy can be motivation to succeed and so would be a gene that would be reinforced through the generations of a species.

Jealousy is petty. If you are unhappy with your failure, do something positive about it rather than feeling sorry for yourself and envious of others. You fail because you chose to. No one is more responsible for your failure than you, so get off your duff and do something about it! Quit being a whiner!

Only If the person is more successful than you the jealousy creeps in, maybe because of the inferiority complex it arouses.
