unsecured = unencrypted packets = partial viewable traffic
to a knowledgeable person, one can see "encryted like" network traffic.
to a skilled hacker, he can decrypt this traffic, connect to your computer, decrypt your passwords etc.
unless there's someone out to get you, you have nothing to worry about.

yes. the password will be in a ********* so they can't figure that out. (The hacker!) It's best to only use secured Internet connection. If you turn you PC off every night, the IP will change making it impossible to log on to your PC. If you leave it on all the time. (the PC!) the same IP address is on, so a hacker can stay onto your computer. Once you cut the PC off you lose that IP address, making it almost impossible for the hacker to re connect to your PC. Because without your IP address the hacker can't log on to you.
