Now lets clean up your disk.



Run a Disk Cleanup 2 times a month. Run Disk Defrag. monthly.


Do a Disk Cleanup and Disk Defrag. You can find both of them by following the path below.
Start>all programs>accessories>system tools>Disk Cleanup. Let it do its thing. You can check every box that has something to delete.
Now follow the same path and do a Disk Defrag. Again just let it do its thing.




Now lets tweak your connection.


If your speed is good I would not mess with it by trying to tweak it. If you do tweak once it is done you should not have to do it every again.

Well if you want more speed and increased response time, Put in more memory: 1 Gb is what you will probably want, unless you do some hefty gaming then at least 2 gb. If you want even more speed, you could upgrade your processor- this is not cheap. If your hard disk is slow, get a 7200 rpm hard drive with the most GB/S as you can afford. But if your computer is just bogged down with a bunch of junk use these utilities :
CCleaner
FreeRam XP
Ace Utilities

Then Use the Built in Utilities
Disk Defragmenter
Disk Cleanup

Make sure you delete all the bulk files you dont need anymore, or at the least burn them to a cd then delete them from your hard disk.

Well, go through the things that are downloaded onto your computer. Anything you don't need, uninstall and throw away in the trash. Like if you have AIM and Yahoo! Messenger, you can take those steps and just go to a website called www.trillian.com and that way you can have both of them in the same program.
