oh there is nothing as fabulous as being pregnant and looking at the adorable things! I bought some little socks, because they were just so tiny, I couldn't believe how little everything was.
Then I got a teddy bear, the big stuff I waited until I was thirty weeks, so I was well out of the woods, but shopping past then becomes a nightmare as you're huge and tired, and can be in a bit of pain too.
I think as soon as you have had your 20 week scan and it's all good, go out and get the lot! It's a bit of a bonding exercise for your baby too, if you sit in a room surrounded by their things, I loved it, next year I will hopefully be doing it all again!

A book that goes through every week of pregnancy and says what is happening to the baby and your body, and what can be expected.
It also had all the info about what to eat and not eat etc etc.
I've found it invaluable and that it has answered almost all my questions. Very necessary!

I bought the BabyCenter Essential Guide to Pregnancy and Birth, The What to Expect When You Are Expecting Pregnancy Diary and A baby name book with over 60,000 names.
I bought them the very next day and I think I wanted and needed them

A pregnancy and birth magazine - I was not long back from honeymoon and on the pill so guess what wasn't planned for!
As for actual things I bought the wool, pattern and hooks and crocheted a christening shawl which took me 7 months and I finished it 3 weeks before I had my daughter.
Ironically she has never been christened x
