The problem i have is i am trying to use the printer and cant even though it is shared,i have the drivers installed on both pc's and when i print(or try printing)a photo from my laptop it says "printing"even though its not and then says "printing complete" even though it has'nt printed any pictuer at all,any one help.,Thanks Mike

I had this problem as well. I assume your printed is wired to the main pc. Can you print ok from the main pc to the printer. We have main pc wired to the printer and 2 laptops on wireless. I have set my laptop up so it will print to any of the pcs connected to the printer although the pc which printer is attached to must be switched on. On your printer icon has it got the little bar underneath it. Try plugging your printer into yourlap wired to make sure it prints ok. Check the port settings are correct. If your printer is connected to a print server see those ports are set correctly. Hope this helps

make sure that the pc you are on and the printer pc are both using the same network, right click on my computer, click propertieties, select computer name tab, both pcs must have same workgroup name and seperate descriptions.
run network setup in control panel to enable file and printer sharing on both pc's,
ensure the network printer is set as your default printer.
if it does not show in printers and faxes select 'add printer' and add a network printer, select pc that the printer is on and you should see the printer name.
