What would you do in this situation? I would return the wallet of money...
Would you accept that note? I would accept the note graciously...
Would you feel offended by his act of offering you the money because if you were money minded, you would not had returned the money? No I would not, I deserve a reward for my trouble and I have always offered a reward to others for doing the same, for one thing the person deserves a penalty for being irresponsible...
Don't you think that the man is belittling you by offering this sum? Yes I do, a finders fee is ten percent of the value of the item found, which would be 2,000...
What would be your reaction? I would be happy, I have a little extra cash to go out to dinner and pay some bills...

If the owner of the wallet truly insisted that I take the money, then I would. After all, it is his way of saying "Thank you" for being honest and returning his property. No, I would not be at all offended by the offer of $1000 because when I returned the wallet and money to him I didn't expect a cent. I would be grateful that he offered the reward. There is no reason why he should have to give up any of his money just because I brought it back to him. Being offended by the $1000 sum is like saying, "You're lucky I didn't just keep it. Don't you think I deserve more for not ignoring the fact that your name/address were in there with the money?"

I've been in a similar situation only it was a $50 reward for about $600 in the wallet. What I did was tactfully decline the first time they offer me a reward. They offered a second time and I graciously accepted.

Personally i would accept the money and say Thank You . He is receiving a large part of his money back ,and it is quite possible that if someone else found it he would have none. There is no need to feel offended as he is just being kind and wants to reward you for your honesty.

I would never be in that situation cause if I found it they would never see that money again! Oh, my reasoning is this--anyone carrying around that much in a purse or wallet is most likely a drug dealer or very, very rich and they are not gonna miss it anyway and if they do screw em!
