If using Firefox get the video downloader extension. Then while viewing the video click on the video downloader icon and it will save to wherever you select.

to download vid's from utube
open 2 browsers
browser 1
- open to the video in youtube that you are wanting to download
- highlight the http:// you tube link in the address bar and then right click and copy it
browser 2
- open to http://keepvid.com/
- you will see a green strip - paste the http:// you tube link in to this section - then click the download button to the right
- once you've clicke the download button - you will see just below that a dark green strip with the following - ›› Download Link ‹‹ (.flv - Flash Video) - click on this link
- a window should open called File Download - click Save
- another window will open - in here - set the location you want to save your video to
example - My Documents/My Videos
- next - in the File Name section - type in the name of the file and make sure that you add .flv to the end of the file name
example - Hearts on fire.flv
- next click the Save button

Find the video you want to download from youtube and copy the address. Then go to http://clipnabber.com and paste in the link. It will give you a link to download (right click save downloaded link). It will then be in .flv format. You can download VLC player to play flv files, or you can convert it to another format (like ReplayConverter for PC or iSquint for Mac).

Yes. Don't listen to those here who say you can't. You need to use a decent browser like Firefox, then add an extension called UnPlug. This allows you to download the flash movie file. You'll need a movie player like VLC player (google it) and that lets you watch the flash movie files.
