Do you find it offensive to be called a "nerd"?

I dont see why nerds get offensive when you call them that. My def of a nerd is a computer savy persone whith a good brain on there shoulders. The nerds i went to school whith have good paying jobs, and a few of the poeple i knew that picked on them are actually working under them now. So do you care if ppl call you a nerd.

No, I actually call myself a Nerd. I just means I am unique and I do not need to mold myself into what others believe to be cool.

Well, in the environment I'm in, the context of a nerd is totally different. It's a term for people who are highly intelligent in any field, be it computers, accounting in business, or even in math. Sometimes I get offended, when I feel like an idiot because I've done something wrong and all the world disagrees and tries to cheer me up. However, most of the time, being called a nerd gives me a weird sense of superiority over other people. Not everyone gets a chance to be called a nerd. And yeah, some nerds I know are filthy rich. :) P.S. I think you're referring to Mr. William Henry Gates III a.k.a. "Bill Gates".. Am I right?

No ppl call me a nerd because I am kinda sorta good with technology but I don't care. I acctually consider being called a nerd as a praise.

Nope. Being called a nerd is just normal for me just because I sort of have an old time lifestyle, you know, with all my Civil War stuff and everything. Nope, a nerd is just a lifestyle, not an offensive term.

Nerds isn't an offensive word...It's been used up anyhow, and even if you do call a nerd "a nerd", what are they going to do about it?

i wouldn't be nerds are the people who make most of the money and they make cool inventions and plus... he who is called a nerd deserves that name to win the money the Nobel prizes and all the nerd chicks.
