Personally, I like it. I'm not saying it is the best and I certainly wouldn't pay for it but it's okay. It tends to be a little heavy on system resources but if you have a decent computer, you should be okay. I said that I wouldn't pay for McAfee but as long as you are a subscriber to Comcast High Speed you can get it for free for up to 7 computers which is what I did.

I got tired of micromanaging all the freeware stuff but I still use Spybot and Adaware. I just got tired of managing AVG and my firewall separately, now McAfee handles everything. Like I said, it's not the best.

If you are looking to buy one and are looking for the best then look no farther than Kaspersky, http://www.kasperskyusa.com/

You can get a free version of Kaspersky in the Active Virus Shield, http://www.activevirusshield.com/antivirus/freeav/index.adp?

Stay away from Norton, avoid them like the plague. See what special offers your ISP might offer (such as the Comcast deal I mentioned), other ISPs might have similar offers on different products.

It nags when ever you turn off stuff or change a setting on your com, half the stuff like the spy-ware scanner I don't need because I have Ad-Aware for that. Virus Scan takes to long like 1 hour 10 mins, that is such a degradation from the old McAfee. It takes so long to load.

The McAfee virus scan is slow as sweet heck, almost 45 minutes to do a scan of my pc.

I dont care for how long it takes to scan my files. It takes longer than Norton. Other than that, I think it is great.

There is one problem that if you have updated it once and you use system restore option in xp you will have to reinstall mcafee.
