It's good to make changes in your life! Start slowly pick up fashion magazines (depending on your age try seventeen or lucky) and mark/cut out styles that you like. Make notice of what other people are wearing and remember your favorite looks. Next time you go shopping try to find clothes that look like these you saw in the magazine.

for flattering colors.

Buy basics and promise yourself that you'll only wear sports clothes for working out. Some good things to have would be pretty colored tees (the gap makes nice ones), a denim skirt, necklaces and a sweater for layering. You might feel self conscious wearing new things, but you won't once people start completementing your new look.

When it comes to make-up add things as you begin to feel more comfortable with them. First try mascara, once you can apply this well add eyeliner or eyeshadow. Blush is also easy to apply and can brighten up your skin. If you need ideas visit a make-up counter in a department store or ask your friends what they do.

Go to an old-fashioned charm-school and learn some manners. Kiss-up to girls with the kind of fashion sense you admire and ask their advice. Wear strong perfume. Join a fancy country-club that throws fancy formal galas. Get a make-over and learn to use make-up. Subscribe to fashion magazines and actually read them. Wear jewelry and "cute" clothes. The list is endless.

I'm a 60 year-old male and was able to generate the above list because those are all the things I have always hated about girly-girls. My advice is to just concentrate on being yourself and do the things you really like to do. Be yourself and don't be a phony hypocrite. Your life is too important to waste on unimportant trivial details. If you're doing this to snag a man, don't. You'll be far happier with a man who loves you unconditionally, just the way you are.

Well i understand how u feel when u r like a football freak and everyone around you just screams when a ball comes towards them...
But I think it'd be better if u still have ur 'sporty spirit' but kind of dress up a bit and care for your looks.
Same prob here. It started when i was 11 (2 yrs ago!!). i used to b dead sporty then i said, 'well...I can still LOOOOOOOVE footie but i can also dress up like them.
so maybe u can do the same.

Start by going through mags like marie clare and in style. They can give you some ideas. Pick out the things that you like best that will flatter you. Get a nice flirty dress that you like and build yourself around what makes you more feminine. Wear simple makeup and let your hair down. I am sure that you can find your own style. Good luck!
