....with a few hours in between. Is it better to leave it on or reboot each time?? I have a laptop, so it can be plugged in or not...

best to leave on and in hibernate mode.

To save energy you can set your laptop into standby mode when you aren't using it (or have that happen automatically instead of a screensaver). I set mine to turn the screen off after 30 minutes, but I use mine as a server so it is running normally all the time, day and night.

I have left mine on 16 hr a day for the last 2 yrs I just turn it off at night. Hibernates when not used during the day

put it in sleep mode. u don't have to reboot each time, but at least twice a week if you have automatic updates on your system.

just leave it on, it is more time saving as long you have the proper cooling system.

if you turn it on in the morning and let the screen saver run while your not on it then turn it off at night you should be ok
