Only if you are connecting your computer to and using the unsecured network. If they're just showing up on your available network list but you're not actually using them yourself it won't affect you.
Always make sure that any wireless network you connect to is either WEP or WPA protected! WPA is the more secure of the two!

Yes they are, that means that anyone can get connected to your broadband connection, your router and then your pc, make sure you have WEP (wired equivalent privacy) enabled and make sure that you tell your router to only allow machines with specific MAC addresses to connect. That wont gaurantee to keep you 100% safe but it'll keep out most people that are trying to use your connection.

no the network is unsecure the the sites you log into ie mail, bank all work on secure networks provided by the bank ect
