For a New Born, there is never "too much" the baby will only eat when she feels hungry.
After giving birth (while still in the hospital) the nurses try to give you approximate guidelines to care for your baby.
2 oz isn't very much, at 3 weeks, let her drink her fill.
You will soon realize as time passes and you become more accustomed to her routine, that she regulates her eating habits and you really have nothing to worry about.
Keep in mind however, after feeding, she may not be crying from hunger, but in fact from built up air in her stomach.
If after allowing her to feed until she seems full (most infants fall asleep or pull away when they are done) she still cries, and you've burped her, she may have what is called colic.
To help alleviate the pain of Colic you can buy a bottle of gripe water at any local pharmacy (over the counter)
Follow the directions, this should be helpful, but will NOT cure colic.

At three weeks old she should be offered at least 4 oz at every feeding. If she cries for more, give it to her. Soon she will be ready for 6 or even 8 oz. Babies need to be satisfied consider how much they grow!! They more than double their size in just a year!!! Why would your fiance think it is okay to with-hold food from her? Would you tell a 2 year old they can't have more chicken if they were still hungry at dinner? Use your common sense...that is almost always your best guide. Then double check with your doctor if you really are concerned.

It all depends on the baby and how much the baby weighs. most baby's around that age have between 2-6 oz every 2-4 hours.
But like my older brother he almost 10lbs when he was born and the doctor told my mom to start him on rice cereal because he was having more than 6oz a feeding. So it all depends on the baby.

You can't feed a baby too much, you can feed a baby too little.
If she wants three oz give it to her, you will know if it is too much she will spit up when you move her.
There is another rule that says babys should be eating 2.5-3oz per lbs of body weight per day to a maximum of 32 oz. Now I have no idea if that is true BUT that would mean that say a 10lbs baby should be eating around 25-30oz per day. An 8 lbs baby would eat 20-24oz per day.

All babies are different, but if she's crying and seems like she's still hungry, then give her more, my son ate 4 oz every four hours like clock work, until about 2 months, now he eats 6 ozs...go with your gut, if you think she's still hungry, make another bottle and see if she takes it.

Give her as much as she wants. Thats how they get up to 8 oz. My youngest came home eating 4 oz. and my oldest (4yrs old) never ate more then six. It won't hurt her. If your still unsure you can call a pediatricians office and ask the nurse................and do like I did and make sure your husband also hears that this is okay! Thats the only way I could shut mine up!

Just like us grown-ups, all babies have their own eating habits. You will only know when it's too much if the baby throws up or takes out extra milk while burping. That means she's full. If she can take 3oz then give her that but just observe when will she asks for another bottle. It's normally after 2-4 hours.
