Harry Reid did not allow the Republicans to have a say in the wording of the resolution denouncing troop build ups and instead he called for a vote to end debate. Most Republicans and Joe Lieberman voted to have a debate and not to proceed directly to a vote on the resolution.

Why does the media insist on saying the Republicans voted to end the debate when it was the Democrats who voted to skip the debate and go right to a vote?

The media sells hype not facts, and Reid like all politicians have their own adgendas which is mainly lining their own pockets and porking up what they can, none of them want to share power work for the pople nor debate or discuss anything in which their position may cost them next election. It is time for the Libertarian Party to move forward and retake America for all Americans

I will have a biased opinion because I see him as a failed politician already. Reid added, "In turn Senate Republicans must understand that Senator-elect Franken's election does not abdicate them from the responsibility of governing." I believe he is looking at republicans having to come on board with all this spending so the democrats do not get all the heat when this spending blows up in their face. Then he can say well they voted on it. Kinda like Bush got their votes for the Iraq war but the last eight years was hell under Bush. We had record high stocks and low employment. What the heck do we have now with this administration except the rest of the world may like us more.

Harry Reid is a crook, how is it doing with his land scandal in Las Vegas, where was mainstream media? It was only Fox News and conservative talk radios who dared to mention it.
So once a crook, always a crook.

Everybody knows that the media are friends of Democrats.

Yes, the Dems have no guts to bring it into real debate because they want to be look good doesn't matter what the outcome was. They will never give any credit to any Republicans or the President.

Why should we continue to deal with the war when they are headed for civil war anyway. They are just waiting for us to leave, asked us to do so and we are still there. We as a Nation should worry about our own problems before we go and try to solve someone else's. we can't feed all of our citizens nor make sure that everyone has Health care but they can take our money without a true vote and blow it on a pointless war ( 100 + million and counting) It really doesn't matter if your a Rep or Dem we should just bring our people Home. The time is now and pointing fingers aobut who did or did not do something is a smoke screen for what really is going on. Our so called govt. should have made all the money that they need, I find it strange the same people saying we need to stay the course are make money off of the rebuild of that country. wouldn't that be double jep, of course they want to stay their making millions.

Democrats know nothing else. They have been blaming Bush and Republicans for every problem for 6+ years. The media (except Fox News) is biased toward the Democrats and liberals.

Because this has been standard politics recently. When your party has the power, you try and screw the other party as much they will let you. The Democrats are taking thier turn and screwing Republicans by not letting them have a voice in many important issues, like the drafting of this Iraq statement bill. The Republicans are trying to stand up for themselves. Most of the majot media outlets in the US favor the Democratic party, and are trying to make it look like the Republicans are out of line. All media and politicians shape facts to fit thier agenda, it's how the game is played.

Looks like the Libs "thumbs down assault team" is tracking you pretty closely Jessie! I thought I'd jump in on this Q and see how many TD's I can garner for myself.

(Let 'em fly folks...I'm going for an all time record!)

Oh yeah...your question. I almost forgot.

Well I guess there's some consistency to mindless rebukes of the opposition by the Liberals in Congress and their like-minded gophers her on Y!A. If you can make the opposition just shut up, that's a good thing!

How long before Nancy Pelosi institutes a new House procedure...the "Thumbs Down" secret vote!

(Let's not give her any ideas)

If you disagree, you vote NO! When Bush wanted the judges voted on and the Democrats stopped the vote, Bush said to not allow a vote was wrong, now the shoes on the other foot; except soldiers are dying, how long do you want them to talk about it.

Honestly Jessi,

does it matter?!! Media is run by companies that have their own agenda, Nytimes is closer to Democrats while Washington post supports usually the republican view point,

Dont waste your time thinking of the procedure, Young men and women face death everyday in Iraq, and they dont wanna hear debate, they want answers,, Why they are there? for how long? Why there is no enough transparency between US govt and people.

It doesnt matter who wants a dabate and who doesnt, what matters what Politicians will do with those who are serving their country and their life is in danger.

Same old everyday Left wing tactics that are dragging our country into the gutter. The Democrats are going overboard and I suspect their true colors are going to be far brighter than they were during election time. As in the past they will once again DEMONstrate their inability to rally their political base because they are actually out of touch with it.
Much as the Republicans were when they were in power.

"Those whom do not learn from the past are condemned to repeat it"
( Abraham Lincoln)
