What was David's place (birth order) in the family in relation to the other children? (This may change throughout the book). He was in the middle, but second, third, fourth? What was he? Also, why is birth order or placement in family important?

im pretty sure david was the second middle child. birthorder is important because the first born is the first for everything, first to be loved first to get new toys.ect. the middle children get less attention, most of there things are passed down from the oldest, there loved but sorta just there. the yougest has all the parents and everyone elses attention because of them beeing the 'baby'
