First, I am guessing that you do know this but Torres del Paine is located not in Costa Rica but in southern Chile....

1. Was there last year and hiked the W. If you enjoy nature and hiking you will probably love this place.
2. Deffinately worth it!
3. Completely safe to be there... Not sure where the closest place to fly into is (I don't know if Puerto Natales has a small runway or if you'd need to come from Punta Arenas)
Check out photos of my time in the park last year at

Torres del Paine is in the extreme South of Chile. It is well worth the trip if you are visiting the area. There are many options, from the budget to the fully luxurious. Chile is a very safe country. Of course, you have to be careful as in any other place in the world, but it is in general very safe to travel in Chile.

If you go, you could also visit the lake region, which is mid-way between Santiago and the extreme South. You can take a Lan Pass Ticket that can allow you to fly between all these places.

i do no longer think of that's amazingly attainable. There are just some cities in that component of the continent or maybe fewer roads. it must be technically achievable, in case you have sturdy climate and don't concepts utilising on dirt roads a super sort of how. i know there is not any public transportation different than boats and planes and it might take a very incredibly long term to force it.
