If you have a Wireless Router/Modem with an ethernet switch (hub) built in and the PC has an ethernet port, the answer is Yes.
There are other solutions to have wired and wireless, but they are usually more difficult to setup.

You can have multiple systems, both wired and wireless, connected via a router. What you will want is a router that supports both wired and wireless interfaces. I have included a link to a Belkin Wireless-G Router with 4 Port Switch (Model: F5D7230-4). The cost from BestBuy for this device is listed at $39.99 (USD). There are many options (I haven't used a Belkin before but just listed as an example) from companies like LinkSys, NetGear and others. What you'll want to consider is the connection from your modem when buying your router. If you currently connect the desktop PC via USB (and an Ethernet connection is unavailable), then make sure you buy a USB capable router. Good luck.

yes. this will do the trick as long as you have a phone line near to the wired LAN PC.
the other one will pick up the signal with the wireless adaptor.
either that or but a USB adaptor and make them both wireless.
if you don't have a phone point near the one you want wired then, you could use the USB adaptor there instead.
the permutations are endless...

well simple buy a usb wireless adapter for your pc, or a pci wireless card, both can be easly bought from most good computer shops.
well the other way would mean running a rj45 cat 5 cable from the hub to your pc.

Yes - I have router on one PC wired - which is the one that you use to access it, and another PC on wireless. Need the router on your phone line
I would have thought that this is a standard set up with a PC wired to the router wired to the phone line?

oh yes, you can always piggy back on your connection.
Just connect your computers up, either wired or wireless...and off you go.
Most ISP's today even let you log on with the same user name from 2 different locations, as long as it's from the same hub.
