my computer is saying I have too many devices?

I have been using it right along now the mouse freezez up or the wi fi card cuts off. I have finally gotten it to tell me that there are too many devices for the wi fi card to work and that I need to remove some devises? what happened that changed things and what do they mean by that. it is a lap top and there is nothing hooked up to it except the wi fi card in the one of the 2 slots. It has the mouse pad and eraser mouse, hard drive and dvd internal. how do I fix this one?

Go to Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager and see if it shows any yellow question marks for conflicts on your devices.
