An Interesting Quiz
How would you respond in these situations?
1. A preacher and his wife are very, very poor. They already have 14 kids. Now she finds out she’s pregnant with the 15th. They’re living in tremendous poverty. Considering their poverty and the excessive world population, would you consider recommending she get an abortion?
2. The father is sick with sniffles, the mother has TB. Of their four children, the first is blind, the second has died, the third is deaf, the fourth has TB. She finds she’s pregnant again. Given this extreme situation, would you consider recommending abortion?
3. A white man raped a 13-year-old black girl and she’s now pregnant. If you were her parents, would you consider recommending abortion?
4. A teenage girl is pregnant. She’s not married. Her fiancé is not the father of the baby, and he’s upset. Would you recommend abortion?
In the first case, you would have killed John Wesley, one of the great evangelists in the 19th century. In the second case, you would have killed Beethoven. In the third case, you would have killed Ethel Waters, the great black gospel singer. If you said yes to the fourth case, you would have declared the murder of Jesus Christ!
God is the author of life, and He has givenevery single individual supreme value. Each life—whether inside or outside the womb—should therefore be valued by us. God knows the plans He has for each individual and has written in His book all the days ordained for us before one of them came to be. When we presume to know better than God who should be given life, we are putting ourselves in the place of God and are guilty of idolatry.

What God’s Word Says About Abortion
By Lynn Copeland
God speaks very clearly in the Bible on the value of unborn children. God’s Word says that He personally made each one of us, and has a plan for each life:
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart" (Jeremiah 1:5).
"Even before I was born, God had chosen me to be His" (Galatians 1:15).
"For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb . . . Your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be" (Psalm 139:13, 16). "Your hands shaped me and made me . . . Did You not clothe me with skin and flesh and knit me together with bones and sinews? You gave me life" (Job 10:8–12).
"This is what the Lord says—He who made you, who formed you in the womb" (Isaiah 44:2).
"Did not He who made me in the womb make them? Did not the same One form us both within our mothers?" (Job 31:15).
Because man is made in God’s own image (Genesis 1:27), each life is of great value to God: "Children are a gift from God" (Psalm 127:3). He even calls our children His own: "You took your sons and daughters whom you bore to Me and sacrificed them...You slaughtered My children" (Ezekiel 16:20,21). The Bible says of our Creator, "In His hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of every human being" (Job 12:10). God, the giver of life, commands us not to take the life of an innocent person: "Do not shed innocent blood" (Jeremiah 7:6); "Cursed is the man who accepts a bribe to kill an innocent person" (Deuteronomy 27:25). "You shall not murder" (Exodus 20:13). Taking the life of the unborn is clearly murder—"He didn’t kill me in the womb, with my mother as my grave" (Jeremiah 20:17)— and God vowed to punish those who "ripped open the women with child" (Amos 1:13).
The unborn child was granted equal protection in the law; if he lost his life, the one who caused his death must lose his own life: "If men who are fighting hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined . . .But if there is serious injury, you are to take life for life" (Exodus 21:22,23). Life is a gift created by God, and is not to be taken away by abortion. God is "prochoice," but He tells us clearly the only acceptable choice to make: "I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live" (Deuteronomy 30:19).

To be honest this question is getting kind of old - it seems like every time I turn around someone is posting a question about how bad abortion is - and abortion is not a pleasant thing.
I think that people fail to take into consideration the fact that it is a very personal choice and that there are a myriad of factors that go into a woman's decision to terminate a pregnancy. Was the woman raped? Was she a victem of incest? Will her body be able to physically carry the baby to term? Yeah the photos of the aborted fetuses are disgusting and disturbing - but is it better for that child to be born into a horrible situation and live a life of abuse or neglect? Now those are some disturbing pictures - the ones of the children that were left in the basement for months, or the 4 year old that still doesn't know how to walk.
Don't get me wrong - I don't think abortion is a good and moral option. The process and the pictures are disgusting. It just bothers me that some people can be so near-sighted on the topic and fail to see the other side. It seems to be an "I'm right - you're wrong" topic - and honestly I think the whole thing is a little more in the grey area than that.

Sick generation huh? Too bad we can't go back to the days when coat hanger abortion was the method. Maybe then woman would be more careful and consider birth control or abstinence. The fact that women, and little girls for that matter, can have abortions in clinical environments as they please is appalling! No parental consent required. I have a two year old daughter, and it makes me sick to know that she could later in life go through such a dramatic experience without my knowledge! Partial birth abortion is gotta be the sickest form of murder that a woman can willingly have performed on her baby. Most people just sit back and agree with one another that it's a woman's right to choose whether or not she'll continue her pregnancy. Maybe that should be true if it's an actual situation where the mother or baby will die if the pregnancy continues, or if the case is rape. But think of the numbers, most abortions are done because the female believes the pregnancy to be an inconvenience. Too much has been lost over the years. Girls are spreading their legs younger and parents are having issues with installing morals and respect. Where's the balance of life?

It is amazing what lengths people will go to in their desperate attempt to justify the murder of innocent human beings. It is an undeniable biological fact that EVERY abortion kills a living human being. Because pro-aborts can't avoid this, they try to argue that the child in the womb is not really human, or that circumstances justify the killing. Can you imagine them applying the same twisted logic to an already born child? After all, a toddler is younger, smaller, less developed, and more dependent on others than we are--so it's acceptable to kill her, right? And if her father is a rapist, then that gives us even more right to kill her, correct?
Killing innocent people is always wrong. Any one with any shred of conscience knows this. But people are selfish, and they want their lives to be as easy as possible, so they justify slaughtering others if it suits their purposes, calling them less than human. Hmmm...has this ever happened before? Take a look:

There is no "clump of cells." When will pro-aborts get their facts straight? By the time most women know they are pregnant, their child's heart is already beating. Virtually no children are surgically aborted before 6-7 weeks, by which time the baby has recordable brain waves and little fingers. The average age of an aborted baby in America is 10 weeks. At that point, the child is fully formed, with all her organs functioning. She can suck her thumb. If her palm is pricked, she will open her mouth and pull her hand away. Clump of cells? Come on. Where is the intellectual honesty?
If being "unwanted" is a crime worthy of death, should we also kill other people who are unwanted? If that is the "compassionate" thing to do, why not kill homeless people, or drug addicts, or the elderly? Where is the respect for life?

"no i havent seen the pictures but sometimes its for the best. plus the baby who would be born is missing a horrible experienc: life. so im actually jealous "
This was one of the comments above. ARE YOU KIDDING? Yup the baby sure misses out on horrible experiences by being ripped limb from limb and having it's head smashed to bits so that it can be extracted.... Yea... there totally nothing horrible about that experience. If you hadn't guessed I'm being sarcastic. You want to see what a fetus goes through during an abortion? http://www.silentscream.org.

i can see what some people mean when they say that actions, like unsafe sex, have consequences, but some are not desicions. what about people who are raped?? i know people will then just say, have the baby, then give it up for adoptions, but think of these:
-young teenagers have died from giving birth
-there are already overcrowded adoption places
-some people who aren't even young teenagers can die in childbirth
and besides, if an abortion were to take place, the FOETUS would not yet even have a brain, or pumping heart. IT IS NOT YET ALIVE. and if you don't beleive me, think of this: can YOU remeber being in the womb??
and what about people for whom life would hurt much more than a quick painless death that THEY ARE NOT EVEN AWARE OF?

Parasite - an organism that lives on or in an organism of another species, known as the host, from the body of which it obtains nutriment.
A fetus is by defintion a parasite. Not that I'm comparing a human baby to something like a tape worm, but it is similar. We have a right to terminate its life.

I dont know how anyone can think its ok. I completely just cant understand how some peoples brains work to make them think that its ok to do. Its sick, and then they want to compare it to people dying in Africa?? Not an excuse for people here in the US to do it. But then again some people will try and use any excuse possible and are in total denial about what actually happens during an abortion.

It's disgusting...no I haven't seen the pictures. But, I don't need to see pictures for me to know killing an innocent baby is wrong!
I will never understand why people have abortions....most abortions aren't performed because of a health concern for mom or baby....it is more so used as a form of birth control, and that is a disgrace.
As for babies that can't be well taken care of...there are millions of people out there that can't have children waiting and ready to adopt this precious babies.....wouldn't it be better to to have a loving parent raise them instead of murdering them?

I think we should give a chance for baby to be born. Human and animals alike.. nature have a way to control them (especially for animals). I don't have a pet atm, but there are a bunch of stray cats in my complex that help to control the rat population (and lizard, they sometimes eat them).

It comes down to selfishness.
It's not about "choice," it's about murdering an innocent child.
**Warning** The site I provided a link to shows a video of an abortion taking place! And it's not pretty!
