I am not interested in watching the movie. Most movie critics gave it a very poor review. Many commented about its disturbing and controversial ending, and I would like to know why.

The videotape that he sends to the reporter at the end of the film reveals that he actually DID kill the woman in question, or at least assisted her with her suicide -- WITH her consent -- because she knew she was already dying and, together, they wanted to make a statement against capital punishment.

Or something like that.

It is disturbing but it is a good movie.
Anyways, they planted a video that showed how the girl killed herself but the reporter gets to the execution site late!

don't always trust the critics, maybe they have other priorities or opinions. The movie is really worthwhile watching - but now that you know the ending, you've spoiled it !

His friend commits suicide, but he is convicted and executed for her murder. They realize too late that she killed herself. They planned it all out to prove a point against the death penalty. Hope that makes some sense.

I enjoyed this movie, it wasn't one of those movies where you know "who did it, whose gonna run and trip, in the woods" it was great.
