The goldfish could be trying to eat it. It's not doing it to be mean or anything but that is what most fish do, they eat smaller fish.

We had a similar problem to this in our tank. I had 2 lovely, peaceful Ruyunkins, an Oranda (both Japanese fish) and one fancy goldfish. We ended up with just one very large fancy goldfish!
He would attack and eat anything else that went in the tank with him. I would suggest taking out the goldfish - they don't mix well with other fish (they also tend to swim faster than other types of fish so can monopolise all the food - they're greedy buggers!) and are also quite dirty so you're tank will need more cleaning and maintenance with a goldfish in there. Good luck!

You answered your own question I think. The chinese fish is smaller. Is is a chines fighting fish? If so I would definately get a devider for your tank so you don't have to use 2 tanks. Fighting fish will attack until the end when they get bigger. Could also be fighting for food. Try to watch to see if it happens after a feeding. I would definately separate them. I haven't really seen vicious goldfish but hey...never know what they are thinking unless you watch their habits.

confident, it relatively is purely too small. those fish can grow to be over 8" each and each. the two-5 gallon tank would be too small for considered one of them to even turn around. your ultimate selection is to take the goldfish lower back to the fish save and commerce them in for some thing else. That, or get a bigger tank. you will choose a minimum of a 30 gallon for considered one of the two fish.
