Without knowing the day(s) you're going to be in Las Vegas it would be impossible to tell you what the room rates are.

If the wedding is on the weekend, you're going to have some trouble finding rooms under $150 nearby. The Barbary Coast would be a possibility, it sits next to the Flamingo.Another possibility would be the Stratosphere, it is located at the far north end of the strip, it's a nice 3 star hotel. Most don't like the location, so the rates are very low compared to other hotels on the strip. The Stratosphere is NOT, old, run down, dumpy or cheap. It opened in April of 1996 and they added a brand new tower a couple years ago. If you don't mind riding the new & very nice strip busses(Deuce) you can save a lot of money and take in the sights at the same time. The Deuce stops right in front of the Stratosphere & 24 hour passes run $5.

If you're in Las Vegas, Sunday through Thursday, a nearby hotel that would be an upgrade would be Paris,>you can find rates under $150 during the week...>Paris will also price match, it's a Harrah's property. You could walk over from the Mirage it's not too far..

these are the best sites to check LV room rates

All of the hotels mentioned will price match any online rate you find

Barbary Coast

the Orleans is the sister property of Barbary Coast and Gold Coast. Each has free shuttle that runs to the other. It would be possible to stay at one of those properties, The Orleans is a nice 3 star hotel, and IMHO it's the best value hotel in all LV.>The shuttle from Orleans to BC takes just about 10 min(usually) . The Gold Coast is a 2 star hotel, but it's only 1 mile west of the strip on Flamingo. The Orleans & Gold Coast rates are almost always much lower than comparable strip properties..

Flamingo

Stratosphere

If anyone tells you to stay at, Bellagio, Caesars Palace, Wynn or Venetian, you can laugh, because if you can find a rate under $150 let me know and we will both stay...Not that it never happens, it does, but, it's rare...

One place you might give some serious consideration too is the Platium hotel, it's 2 blocks East on Flamingo from the strip, the rooms are a minimin 900sq ft and include a kitchen.

This is my favorite site for LV info
http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com >Las Vegas maps>So you can see the relative locations of the hotels. Remember it's 4 miles from one end of the strip(hotel cluster, to the other) that would be from the Stratosphere to Mandalay Bay.

"finzup77" repeated one good piece of advice "room rates in Las Vegas change" but you would not like the Imperial Palace unless you enjoy waiting 15 minutes for an elevator, the IP is just not a very nice hotel. The Sahara is inexpensive but, it's also over 50 years old and it shows, plus it's on the north end of the strip & on the wrong side of the street to catch the Deuce "unless you like crossing 8 lanes of LV Blvd traffic. "They put up those overhead pedestrian walkways for a good reason" And as to the Lady Luck, yep, you could probably get some great rates there, since it has been closed for renovation for quite some time now.

It is tough not knowing the dates. The rates in vegas change all the time. You may be able to get good rates at the flamingo.. or check ballys, barbary coast, and the imperial palace.
The stratosphere and sahara are further down the strip but usually have cheap rates.
Downtown las vegas is always more reasonable (main st station, lady luck, four queens) and it's easy to hop on the $2 bus up strip.
Good luck!

The Flamingo is OK. I personally prefer the MGM Grand. Depending on when you go, you might get a room within that price range. I have also stayed at the Luxor and the Monte Carlo, both of which are very nice. None are far from the Flamingo.

Agree with Jack. depending on the days , the Flamingo or bally's offer great deals. Not sure about the Imperial palace, how long that will be with us. But they offer economical rates

Terribles is 5 minutes away by car. You will spend $40 a night and spend the rest on doing fun things.

The Aladdin is my fav. Not too close, but not too far. Staff is very nice, rooms nice, location great. Price usually reasonable. Try Priceline.com, etc, or their own website for prices. Enjoy! What a city!
