has the new intel core 2 duo processor in it so is it vista thats just really slow????

its really slow when browsing, it isnt the connection coz when i use my old xp laptop it works fine but my 1 with vista takes ages to load every page.

Don't know what could be happening, I just upgraded to vista and don't have any difference with internet. It is possible that if you are using a usb modem that the drivers are not good enough in vista. If possible try to connect via eternet or wireles using a router.
I have a, AMD turion 64x2, 1gb memory and using vista home premium apart from a few teething problems I find it isn't too much different to XP with regards to speed

what do you mean it is really slow using internet? if you mean that browsing the internet is slow then your problem is your connection. what kind of connection you have, dial-up or dsl broadband?

you can try optimizing your settings, adjusting the mtu value of the laptop or the router
