Firstly, snap!! I am 38 weeks with 2nd.. Have a constant backache and waiting for real labour to start after a week of on and off contractions.. (false labour i think they call it) Anyway, i didn't think that the pineapple was actually a old wives tale and does actually have some truth.. Apparently pineapple (has to be fresh) contains a enzyme called bromelaine. This is thought to help break down the cervix but i don't think enough studies have been done on the subject to support this theory. Lots of women swear by it where as lots of women say its a load of rubbish.. Hasn't helped me so far.. I also read that you would have to eat 10 whole fresh ones to actually trigger labour... Good luck, and hope it happens so for you. Xx

I think there is an enzyme in Pineapple that can affect labour, BUT, you would have to eat a HUGE amount of FRESH pineapple for it to have any effect (something like 7 - 10 whole pineapples in one go)
None of these things really work unless the baby is nearly ready to make an appearance anyway.
You could try puttting Clary Sage essential oil in your bath (just a few drops mind you) I've heard many women say that this helped.

Don't bother with the pineapple hun, it doesn't work. In fact not many induntion techniques work except for the ones administered by a healthcare provider. I ate ALOt of pineapple all throughout my pregnancy(I didn't even know it could induce labor) until I was told I was I may have to be indiced. And that's what heppened, and then I was given a C-section. If baby isn't ready then baby just isn't ready. Just keep walking and getting "close" to your partner. If it doesn't work, induction really isn't so bad.

It will happen when it happens. I've actually heard castor oil is bad. Walking definitely helps, but as for anything else, I think they are all just wives tales, or coincidence. I'm sure your hubby is loving the daily sex, though. So, if you are feeling up to it, I guess it can't hurt. LOL.

Eating pinapple will not help at all. That is just an old wives tale. The walking is the best thing to get things in to action. That is what they would have you do at the hospital to induce labor. I remember walking the halls with all my 3 babys and thats the only thing they say to do.

I'm not sure pineapple juice will do anything i think its best to let your baby come when he/she is ready i was 2 weeks over due with my 1st baby and 13yrs later my 2nd was 12 days overdue just let nature take its course

You could try a 'birthing ball' and sit on it rocking gently - it might help reduced the pressure you're feeling, but I think the baby will come in his or her own sweet time. Rest up and gather your strength for the big day. Best of luck!

Iam not sure how much you're supposed to eat.
I'd just stick to the walking and sex. Its unlikely that you'll go two weeks late again, as this is your second baby. But you do still have two weeks until you're due.
Just enjoy your time as a pregnant momma, and dont stress over making it happen. It'll be here soon enough.
