The circumference of a circle is pi * d, (pi = 3.14...)
the d refers to diameter, which is 2 times of the radius.
Since the radius is 36mm, the diameter is 72mm, and so the circumference of the circle would be 226.08mm

C = 2 π r = 2 x 3.14 x 36 mm = 226.1 mm

Yuo can 1 add 36 and 36 and get 72 and multipyl that by pi and get 226.08 mm
or
multiply 36 by 36 and get 1296

C=2*(pi)*r
C=2*(3.14)*36
C=72*(3.14)
C=226.08mm

remeber the equation for circumference:
=2 x pi x r,

Since you have radius, 0.36

C = (2)(3.14)(0.36)
C = 2.2608 units

2007-02-18 02:39:19 · answer #7 · answered by Abhishek D 2 · 0 0

radius = r
circumference = c
pi = 3.141592654... (it is a constant)

c = 2 * pi * r
c = 2 * pi * 36
c = 72 * pi mm or c = 266,2 mm
