I'm really not worried whether a priest is gay, female or anything, as long as they are a good priest. A good priest will, anyway, push his/her church's teachings first and keep his or her private preferences totally private.

Well there are two ways of looking at this; gay priests should not be an issue, it only becomes one when he/or she puts their sexuality in the spot light, private life should be kept that way. I find that I don't have a problem with peoples sexuality gay or straight however priest have a job to do and that is to provide guidance and support of the church , their influence on children does play a part to a child's development as well as views of the church. But being gay or straight should not be the question that is running through our minds when we enter a church and one way to do that is to focus not on sexuality but on what is going to help shape the children that enter the church. Children are too young to be learning about being gay they should have the time to enjoy Sunday school/church or religion without getting dragged into the debate of gay priests. Keep your private stuff private and go in church with your heart and mind on God.

Im not religious but I cant think a priest who ignores the bible could be very sincere about his job.The bible says its wrong to the extent that it says 'their blood be upon them' having nothing against gay people but don't like hypocrites.

No - why should he - at least he's not going to interfere with them, and for the short amount of time he would be in contact with them, I can't see how they'd even KNOW he was gay - unless, of course, some "do-gooder" went out of his way to tell them, and even then, the "do-gooder" would have to explain what he means, and couldn't that just lead to said do-gooder "showing" them what he meant......

in true religon there is no such thing as a practising gay preist.
the biblical warning against false priest and churches is that they will abandon gods word to please what is supposed to be popular oppinion, in order to make themselves popular to those types of people.

Not only priests but all gay and lesbians have an ill affect on all our citizens. The same with adulterers, liers and murders, especially abortionists.
