when i had my second baby the widwife did not give me a cut she just let it open naturally and gave me no stitches later. but someone told me even if they dont give u a cut they give u stitches. can i go and get the stitches now. the midwife who delivered me had finished her shift after my delivery so it was the other midwife who should have given me the stiches but i think the earlier midwife failed to convey this to her. and also my baby is now 16 months

Sound like you did it the perfect natural way and stretched to accommodate the birth just like it was designed to do.
No cut no tear no stitches.
It just retracts back down again.
Cool you work fine now stop worrying.

You are fortunate that you had a midwife that doesn't believe in cutting all her moms. She let you deliver over an intact perineum, she would have checked you out thoroughly to see if there were any tears needing repairs. Obviously you didn't have any tear so didn't need any stitches. Your baby is 16 months old, if there was a small tear, which I doubt there was, it would surely be too late to do any thing now as it would have healed.

See your gyno to find out if anything went wrong, but if you needed stitches and your midwife was not guilty of malpractice, then you should be fine not getting stitches.

if you needed stitches you would if got them i had 3 baby's and no stitches nothing to worry about if you did not tear

i had stictches with my fist baby... and a midwife deliverd my 2nd. he got stuck and she RIPPED my vagaina open to deliver him!! his shoulders were dislocated... and my pain was unbearabe... she didint even let me have anything for pain!!! it was in the hosp. she was rude, bosy, and uncaring... my baby almost died and she was laughing!!!! No stitches or pain meds afterwards.... thank god my gyno arrived to the hosp. the next day to check on me... she was fired 3 months later, some womans baby died due to her falling on the belly.... please get checked out...

Not that I know of. If they didn't give you stiches and you are fine know then I think that you will be okay.
