why are my parents upset??

2007-02-18 02:30:38 · 10 answers · asked by Nicoletta 3 in Pregnancy & Parenting Adolescent

I am 17, my b/f is 17. Both of our families went on vacation together to a ski resort. Well our parents were busy and we went into the hot tub and they found us cuddling. They all got pissed off. What is wrong with finding your kids together in a bikini and swim shorts??
it wasn't anything past wandering hands and kisses.
His dad knows we have had se.x and is ok with it.

Maybe they thought it was inappropriate to turn a family vacation into a retreat for lovers?

I'm not sure what their reasoning is, but I would suggest waiting until they calm down then talking it out. Good luck!

His dad may not be OK with it. His mother may not know. Do your parents know?
Hot tubs as places for cuddling, kissing and having roving hands - well, everytime you see a hot tub on a sitcom, there's always more going on or about to go on! No wonder your parents were upset!
You're old enough to get pregnant - when they know you have sex, that's their fear. That and the fear that you will want them to know all about your sex life - as if they tell you all about theirs!
They're angry because they might even be annoyed if they were sitting in the hot tub themselves and some other adult couples got in and started kissing with roving hands. They'd be just as mad. It would be just as rude!
So there you are: manners.

Perhaps you should be asking them why they made a big deal over nothing.
They probably are just not able to handle the dating issue and over reacted (badly). Ask them what they consider acceptable and see if you can resolve this together. Remind them that your are nearing adulthood and dating will always be there. They're going to have to accept the fact that your not the little girl anymore .

Well you're still someones "baby" even if you dont see you're self that away anymore. Parents will get mad for anything while you're a teen its just their right! They know yall are having sex and well that scares them (it would scare any parent, there are a lot of STD's and there is a chance of being pregnant) so yea they will be angry they are just being parents.

They're just worried about sorry to say but their little girl getting pregnant. No matter how innocent the situation was! Give them time this will blow over. Good luck and stay responsible!

I guess they don't want to realize that you are both growing up. I know that your dad knows the sex thing, but he probably has never seen anything from you guys like that, right in front of his face.

Well they shouldnt have a reason to be upset. if his dad knows yall had sex then cuddlin should be a relief to him. lol. But i dont see anythin wrong with cuddlin i mean they could have caught ya havin sex, so the situation could be worse.

I think that your parents are worried about you. And that they thought that you were just hung up with your boyfriend. They are probably scared about things they might have heard about other teens.
