I dont know why at all I have now had a total of perhaps four violation notices. only the first of which I am resonably happy about being justified. One was for a one word answer to a question. Reason for violation not an answer. Which it most definitely was.
I can only presume that the asker took offence to being told the obvious! However obvious or not it is still an answer! I can only conclude that if you report someone for a violation that the violation notice goes out automatically, without human checking or intervention! Others thoughts or a reply from the YA team would be appreciated here!

I'm confused too i answered a question about my job and wished them success in theirs and bang i get a violation, there seems to be dual standards from YA they leave some totally offencive answers / questions on and hand out violations to perfectly innocent answers.

The same thing has just happened to me, I really cannot understand why. I answered a question with a slightly flippant answer, but in no way did it offend. I have emailed Yahoo to give me an explanation. Watch this space

i got the exact same . true enough it was neither a question or an answer, i just said "good luck with that one" the question itself was a very complicated and properly unanswerable maths problem and the person asking was properly just tyring to be smart and reported every one who answered as most of of the answers where just telling him/her what they thought of his/hers question.
You most likely got the same type of person who just gets their kicks out of being obnoxious on line and reporting answers for no reason
Don't let it put you off answering questions

don't worry about it, I've had loads, many for nothing, they won't come round your house. there's a lot of people on here and some are very strange, your bound to upset someone, sometime even for the most trivial reason.
