I often get bad migraines around the time of my period, they really are a pain (pardon the pun). I went to the Migraine clinic in London for advice. It is a hormonal thing. Make sure that you drink extra fluids around this time. I take two (200mg) ibuprofen and one soluble paracetamol, I dissolve it in luke warm water as it gets into the blood stream quicker that way. I take them every four hours...any more than that is non-effective and could be dangerous.
Have a chat with your doctor, he will be able to help you.

Yes I used to get bad headaches, not now as I had to have a hysterectomy 3 months ago at the age of 38. My headaches were very bad before and during my period. I took ibuprofen every 4-6 hours. They did relieve the headaches but not 100%

Yes, very common to get migraine like headaches during your period. Try limiting salt and sugar intake about 3 days before you start then continue until you are done. I've also found that the Advil product for migraines works great if taken early in the pain stage.

I get bad headaches - I try to massage my head rather than pump my body with asperins. The pain does ease, but I have problems with headaches most days anyway.

You're just collecting them. When you get married you'll be giving them all to your husband.
