in america the flag is very stylish. americans aren't trying to shove it in your face that we are american, we're just wearing things that we think look nice. I think this is a classic example of europeans overreacting. They are so busy trying to find fault in americans that they are criticizing everything that we do instead of excepting who we are. all it does is create unnecessary drama. i mean...we're all people

I don't think most of them care. As long as you're not dressed head to toe in stars and stripes and handing out pamphlets on how america is the best country in the world, they're going to care less. My fiance is danish and I wear my "Oklahoma" stuff all the time around him. He even wears the OU cap I gave him.

If I'm remembering my flag etiquette, one is not supposed to wear the flag on anything. I believe it is OK to wear a lapel pin, but it is not OK to wear it as a pattern on ones clothes. Do you remember Abbie Hoffman being arrested for wearing a shirt made from an American flag? So, as an American, I won't do it, but I guess if others want to, I don't care.

With the political unrest levels being so high, these days? I'd fore go wearing the US flag abroad - why become a hi profile target? Unless you have a serious death wish. . .

Can't see why that would be annoying to them....you tend to see the Union Jack on a lot of clothing as well.
