I'm normally reasonably good at these, but I can't get this one:

Cupboard key? (6)

Any ideas? The word 'key' in a cryptic clue can often refer to a musical key (eg the letter A, B, C, D, E, F or G) but I still have no idea.

"Key" can also refer to a small island (Key West, Key Largo). Beyond that I have no clue. Good luck.

Try "handle." The handle is the "key" to opening the cupboard.
