I am a new guitarist and I have been playing for approximately 1-2 months. I just went down to try out distortion pedals yesterday and tryed a guitar there that was so much easier to press than mine because the strings were closer to the frets. Is there an easy way to lower the strings or would i have better luck taking it to a professional?

You can adjust the bridge lower, but the truss rod also has to be adjusted to eliminate any extra buzz you might end up with. Honestly, you'd be better off taking it to a pro- tell him you want the action lowered.

Bubba is way wrong.

You shouldn't touch any adjustments on your guitar unless you know what you're doing. Adjusting a truss rod is not the way to set action and doing so may end up costing you big bucks to repair it.

Take it to a professional. You're not nearly experienced enough to make adjustments to your guitar. If you make the wrong adjustment, it could permanently damage your guitar. Good luck!

the truss rod runs the lenght of the neck. It has a cam action, so you can only turn it so far before it go back to where you started. You should find the end of it at the head.

Get a shorter Bridge, yours is probably too tall.
