From whom? the US govt? Not flippin' likely. The Cuban exiles in the US would love to dance on his grave once he dies. They have already secured the Orange Bowl in Miami to have a "party" once they find out.
This at the taxpayers expense no less. They are trying to say it won't be that it will just be a gathering but I don't know who they are trying to kid.
What has been surprising to me for all of my life has been the attitude of the older Cubans here in this country especially South Florida. Don't get me wrong. Castro has done some heinous things to his own people but he did not develop in a vacuum.
In 1934 Fulgencio Batista stage a coup and took over the Cuban government in what became known as "The Revolt of the Sergeants." He ruled Cuba with an iron fist, and the full blessing and endorsement of the United States government. Batista, through his private police force committed many brutal human rights abuses. Batista remained in power until 1944.
Batista again staged a coup in 1952 ousting Carlos Prio and becoming dictator of Cuba. After this point, Batista abandoned the Cuban constitution by allowing only staged elections where his victory was guaranteed.
Batista did not offer health care or education to his people At the time of his ousting it was estimated that 92% of the country was illiterate.
The first Cubans to flee were mostly rich, white professionals and business people. Many had worked for Batista's regime, or owned or managed companies or land that Castro nationalized. Unlike most immigrants in American history, the 220,000 Cubans who came to Miami between 1959 and 1962 were not poor, huddled masses. Some even managed to take their money with them.
I think they think they will be able to waltz in and take over once he is gone. It had been discussed years ago, by the exile community in South FL who would be President from amongst them once Castro dies.
I think they will be in for a rude awakening.

You'll have to find a Canadian to smuggle them in for you.

I got no beef with Castro.
Governments got beef with him.
Castro closed down big American whorehouse.
The people that fled Cuba in the 50's were the pimps.

U.S Government can't wait to see what happens after Castro dies.
Maybe they can open up the whorehouses again someday.

I have no issues with Fidel Castro.

If it would be possible, yes, I would send flowers in time for his funeral. He probably will pass on in a few years due to poor health.
