Who had more people fighting in American Revolutionary War? French or Americans?

The French and Americans were fighting against the British. And please do not say the British.

It was America's War for Independence so of course the colonists/Americans outnumbered the French in that fight.

There were actually more American rebels, but the French were better trained and armed, and without them you would have lost.
