I read an article a while back about a pill that induces "emotional forgetfulness" mainly for people with PTSD -- But as usual, most so-called "ethicists" want to put a damper on it.

Personally, I think that this would be a good thing, not only for those who suffer from PTSD, but also for those who are living the effects of childhood abuse, whether it is emotional, physical or sexual.

What is this pill, and how can it be obtained?

The drug is called Propranolol, and it is basically a Beta Blocker.

I'm not sure if that can be obtained without a prescription at this point.

It's Neitch I hope I spelled that right, but it can be both good and bad. Why is it a good thing to give anyone a pill like this? I think that you must have some real issues to deal with and that is the only reason you would think this is good, but there are far better ways of dealing with this, cry and laugh and remember and stomp and get mad and scream and you see none of these things really hurt you or anyone else it is just that society has become so shut down that people are not allowed to do this anymore. Strong emotions at time are really good.

I feel that we are our own best councilor's, we are own best doctor's we can diagnose better then any professional out there. We live in these bodies we know when we feel gross or not emotionally well. I feel it would best not to take any type of alternative drug out there even herbal until we ourselves look inside of ourselves and identify that specific problem that we all have fear of being wright fear of being wrong fear period. I feel that all physical ailments stem from being afraid. I feel when it is identified what we fear we face it and over a period time learn not to dismiss it learn from it take it at face value and learn to work with it not overcome it learn that it is not in control but it is a tool to assist us in our day to day lives. We are here to learn not to take meds that could surpress these particular emotions and make it worst from personal experience I have learned when you take meds herbal or pharmacial that only prolongs the time we will be forced to deal with the problem and learn from it as best as we can. I also feel it makes the emotion more overwhelming when we it comes back because it wanted something we didn't get from it the first time, so now it is back more persistant and we feel more fear unnessarily then before.

So I feel we shouldn't try to surpress it with drugs or alcohol even prescriptions we should take the experience the first time the issue arises and do our best to learn from it analize it for it ourselves see the root of the problem and learn to deal with until we are no longer afraid of the emotion.

Have a good day all learn as much as you can one day at a time and remember drugs alcohol doctor meds are not the way out for any of us.

First of all , drugs are not your answer. You need counciling to help you deal with the issues that are bothering you . All of us have bad things that happen to us in our lives. You learn from the bad things as sad as that sounds it's true. It teaches you what to stay away from, what you don't want and to appriciate the good things in your life. Start going to church and pray, pray, pray.
