Some of it would depend on your area of research/specialty. Based on my general feel for what I see advertised, I would guess that biochem., organic, and analytical would have the most job opportunities in industry. Most of these would be bench jobs. In academics your choices would be fairly limited. There are some community colleges and small colleges that will hire people with MS degrees for teaching positions. There are lot of opportunities in Msc chemistry.
Based on ur interests u can choose ur specilaization
1. Organic chemistry - You can go as an analyst in all the organic based chemical industries such as petroleum, rubber, plastics, resins or any organic based R& D as a chemist or analyst.
2. Instead u can also choose to work as a chemist in inorganic based industries like ferlizers, caustic industries etc...
3. More scope also in Environmental sciences, energy and fuel chemistry and related areas.
