How close is the campground to the Carowinds theme park, and is it possible to get a deal on the park if camping at the campground? What facilities are at the campground? When is the best time to go? Do either of them accept AAA or Good Sam discounts?

Carowinds owns the campground. I doubt there are any significant discounts on park tickets if you stay at the campground. I'm not sure what facilities are there, but by what I hear the campground was just reopened last year so it should have fairly new stuff there. Best time to go to Carowinds is a Friday in the spring, but not on one of their education days (they are slammed with school groups then). Check the park's website for official times and education day dates.

i think it is owned by the same people. there is a small discount.
