What does this organisation do?

Do they have the power to close a business down or get members of staff for a certain company sacked?

I am going to write a letter to Trading Standards.

See my last question, can I still write to the TS even when I get my money back, just to complain about the overall service and what happened?

Anything to do with trading with the public, and they do have considerable powers for persist ant offenders.
