Wonderful question. I was thinking of asking this the other day. I've lived in other states, but right now I live about 10 miles from where I grew up. My husband, on the other hand, lives several hundred miles from his childhood home. And my sons were born in another state and we live 100 or so miles from there. Thank you for asking.

I had several childhood homes (we moved a lot when I was a kid!) but stayed in the same county.....I have lived in so many different places!!
Where I am now is the longest I've stayed in one place EVER, its the same county as my childhood area but about 25 miles away.

Actually, Which one???
I was an army brat, and my father was stationed in quite a few places, all of which for a time was my childhood home. Either Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, Maryland, New Jersey, even Germany......I learned something at each place we were, and carried something with me, even to this day. So, this is a multi-part question.
However.......as I was born in New Jersey, and ended up returning there after my parents divorce........the answer is exactly 35 miles from my childhood home in New Jersey ( even if I am in Pennsylvania now)

About a half a block.I can see my childhood home from my house. My parents were no longer living when i moved here, but it makes me feel good to be this close to where i grew up.I have some great memories of this neighborhood, and wanted to be back here with my family.

I live about a brisk 20 minute walk from the house where I grew up. Independence, but close enough to get home quick if things go a bit wrong!
